BroGrowz FAQ

Short answers, no fine print. Something missing? Ask us on Instagram @brogrowz.

Is BroGrowz really free?
Yes, every feature: unlimited plants, unlimited entries, AI photo analysis, weather logging, comparisons, all four journal views, Ask-the-Doctor consults, weekly summaries, journal sharing. Register with an email and password and start growing. No credit card, no trial timer, no paywall hiding the good parts.
What is Dr. BroGrowz?
Our AI cannabis doctor. It analyzes the photos in each entry like a clinician: an observation, the diagnostic reasoning ("because it's on old leaves, not new"), ranked likely causes with confidence bars, one clear next move, and a seven-category plan with real grow-shop products and DIY home alternatives. Available 24/7, and it won't invent problems on a healthy plant just to seem useful.
Does it work for indoor, tent, greenhouse, and outdoor grows?
Yes. Set your environment on the plant profile and the doctor adapts: PPFD/VPD targets for indoor and tents, direct-sun-hours logic for outdoor plots, damped-swing reasoning for greenhouses. Auto-weather is weighted correctly for each: it's your plant's actual environment outdoors, but only secondary context for a sealed tent.
What photos should I take for the best diagnosis?
Three beat one: a whole-plant shot from 18-24", a closeup of the newest top growth, and a closeup of any problem leaf (top and underside), shot in daylight or lights-on. You can attach up to 8 photos per entry. The doctor reads each individually before giving a combined verdict.
Is my grow journal private?
Yes. Your journal is tied to your account and only visible when you're logged in. Photos are stored privately and served only to you; other users can't see your plants, entries, or photos unless you invite them yourself through Sharing.
How does the automatic weather work?
Add a city or ZIP to your plant profile. Every entry then stamps the current temperature, humidity, precipitation, cloud cover, wind, UV index, and sunshine hours at your location, plus tonight's low and a 3-day temperature outlook. It all shows as badges on the entry and the doctor uses it to plan ahead for heat waves and cold nights.
Can I track multiple plants?
Unlimited plants, each with its own profile (strain, genotype, breeder, medium, soil recipe, pot size, lighting, environment), its own journal, and its own history with the doctor.
Do I need to install an app?
No install needed: BroGrowz runs in the browser at app.brogrowz.com on any phone, tablet, or computer. Prefer an app feel? Add it to your home screen from the browser menu and it installs like one. Built phone-first, so logging from the tent or garden is easy.
My plant is healthy. Is the AI still useful?
Very. On a healthy read the doctor says so plainly, credits what you're doing right, tells you what to hold steady, and preps you for the next stage. And every logged entry builds the comparison history that catches problems early later on.
Does the doctor remember my previous entries?
Yes: before each diagnosis it re-reads your last three entries, including its own past observations and prescriptions. Problems get diagnosed as a trajectory ("this appeared within 24 hours of the last watering"), healthy streaks get reinforced, and it checks whether its earlier advice actually worked.
Can I ask the doctor a question without posting photos?
Yes. Open Ask the Doctor from the Grow Deck button on any plant page. Pick a direction (force flower, hold in veg, speed up growth, more stretch, bushier canopy, transplant, harvest prep) or ask your own question, and the doctor writes a step-by-step game plan that saves to your journal like any visit. If your move changes the plant's stage (like flipping to 12/12), the journal updates the stage automatically. You get 5 asks per plant each week, and the counter resets every Sunday.
What are weekly summaries?
On the Summaries tab you can ask the doctor for a write-up of the last 3, 7, or 30 days, or a level-up review with ideas to improve. Each one recaps the stretch in plain words and scores plant health, momentum, and your grower game from 0 to 100. You get 3 summaries per plant each week, resetting every Sunday.
Can I share my journal with a friend?
Yes. From the plant page, open Sharing and invite them by email: view-only, or view + add entries. Shared plants appear under "Shared with me" on their home page, and entries they add carry their name. If they don't have an account yet, the invite activates automatically when they sign up.

That's everything. Ready?
